LAST week, I gave you two stories of wives with children abandoned by their husbands. Here, a reader, Tony, makes his confession as a man who did just that. Now aged 42, he lives alone, having embarked on an affair with a work colleague at 36 and 'caused terrible heartache to my wife'.

Tony had a son and a baby daughter - but that didn't stop him. The affair lasted four years, 'but during that time I never had the courage or decency to either move out or stop the relationship'.
