AER LINGUS boss Dermot Mannion and his chief financial officer last night bowed to public outrage and scrapped a 'golden parachute' deal that would have seen them share e4.2million if the airline was taken over.

Mr Mannion and Sean Coyle had stood to gain e2.8million and e1.4million respectively should Aer Lingus be bought out.
