Summary

STRAIGHT from another of the ice baths that have become such a part of his life, football's very own marathon man walks in to the room.

Scotland international Graham Alexander might be 37, but he has started every one of Burnley's 60 games this season. You won't hear him complaining, either. 'I have no right to get tired or feel tired,' he said ahead of Monday's Championship play-off final between Owen Coyle's side and Sheffield United at Wembley. 'I speak to may dad all the time and he is moaning about having to get up at 3am every morning to drive his lorry. You know what I mean? 'He's in his 60s and has been up for five hours working before I even get out of bed. It would be immoral to complain. You can lie to yourself and tell yourself you're not tired. That's what I do.' Sold by Preston two summers ago because they didn't want to give a two-year contract to a 35year-old, Alexander's efforts warrant Player of the Season across all four English divisions. If he can play so many games, why do Barclays Premier League players complain about their workload? 'It's not just the big-name players,' he said. 'I have been in the third division and heard players whingeing about it. Players sometimes forget what they wanted to do when they were 10, 12 or 14.
