Summary
OVER the years, as a Conservative, I've disagreed profoundly with the views of Tony Benn, Robin Cook and Clare Short. While disagreeing with them, I've respected them for standing up for what they believed, in some cases to the detriment of their careers.
Listening to Labour's Tony McNulty and Denis McShane speaking about David Davis's resignation, they appeared to believe that to stand for something 'on principle' is a concept that doesn't exist.
