AHEM. I am beginning to feel rather guilty about outing Amanda Redman for lying about her age. Who would have thought it would cause such a big fuss? This is what actresses do, after all, alongside searching for motivation and only taking their tops off for the most noble of artistic reasons. Yet there is one more curious fact. In a recent interview, Amanda was depicted as laughing, slightly uncomfortably, at the heady news that she was voted Most Desirable Older Woman by readers of Saga, the magazine for pensioners.

'Oh gawd,' she is quoted as saying, 'is that a good thing?' Yet according to Saga, this never happened. Back in February 2004, the magazine did run a feature on the Sexiest Women Over 50. However, Miss Redman was not one of them.
