The BBC is encouraging its viewers to do all they can to save the planet in one of its most ambitious projects to date. No small task, you would think, but one that you can achieve this summer just by sitting comfortably at home in front of the TV, watching nine celebrities travel the globe highlighting the plight of endangered animals.

Saving Planet Earth commemorates the BBC Natural History Unit's 50th anniversary and is hosted by Sir David Attenborough. The all- star line-up includes Will Young, TV presenter Nick Knowles, Fiona Bruce, Radio 1 DJ Edith Bowman, Jack Osbourne, Carol Thatcher and Saira Khan, all encouraging you to donate Pounds 10 to the cause of their respective animals.
