AFTER a fortnight of speculation and rumours, Peter Drinnen has agreed to step down from his post as Cricket Scotlands national coach. The Australian who now reverts full-time to his former role of technical director, and will coach Scotland A until the end of 2007 had come under pressure from within the first team, with several players thought to have objected to him staying at the helm.
His position wasnt helped by results, with Scotland suffering three heavy defeats at the World Cup and winning just one of their nine FP Trophy games. As a result, reaching the World Cricket League Final at the start of this year was quickly forgotten. CS will appoint caretaker coaches next week to oversee a quadrangular one- day series in Ireland and the ICC World Twenty20 in South Africa in September.See the full content of this document
