MICHAEL BARRYMORE was all smiles at a restaurant in London yesterday -- unfurling his 6ft 3in frame from his modest Ford Fiesta as if he were a human Anglepoise lamp, and posing happily with the doorman.

It was an elegant way of showing that he is far from down and out, and comes in the wake of pictures showing him pushing a wheelbarrow and sweeping up at a friend's garage.
