AFTER a season spent fighting the inevitable, Campbell Money finally threw in the towel on Saturday evening, after the 4-1 defeat to St Mirren, and admitted his Ayr United side will be playing Second Division football next season.

The post-Bill Barr era of retrenchment has proved costly, with the likes of James Grady, Eddie Annand, Paul Lovering, Pat McGinlay, Paul Sheerin and John Hughes exiting and being replaced by youngsters.
