THIS week my wife and I dropped our 16-year- old daughter Evelyn off for her first day at Sevenoaks School in Kent. Evelyn insisted on a 'drive-by' drop off, and almost leapt from our beaten-up, old people carrier before anyone could spot her embarrassing parents.
