Summary
At the ripe old age of 31, I finally got my first car. Up till then, I hadn't been able to afford it. After I left school, I became a runner for a film company; then I worked for a publicity firm. I didn't earn much money in fact, I was skint and lived at home in Harrow, north London, with my mum and dad [director John Glenister] until I was in my mid-20s. That was the real reason I never bought my own car I knew that I could borrow theirs whenever I wanted.
