RANGERS and Scotland captain Barry Ferguson has revealed he hopes to carry on playing for another 10 years. The Ibrox midfielder, who turns 30 next February, will be up against 39-year-old Falkirk midfielder Russell Latapy today, but it is team-mate David Weir who is inspiring Ferguson to set such a goal.
To be honest I now want to play as long as I can, said Ferguson yesterday. I used to say I will chuck it at 32 or 33 but now I want to go on and keep playing. Davie Weir has given me that inspiration since he came here in January. Davie is 37 and is still playing very well. So my view is: play as long as you can because you are a long time retired.
