BERMUDA-BASED billionaire Joe Lewis's name was on everyone's lips as shares of All Bar One and O'Neill's pubs group Mitchells & Butlers raced 261/4p ahead to 2503/4p. Early intoxicating rumours that he had increased his stake in the company proved spot on when confirmation that he now owns 90.6m shares, or 22.3pc, came well before last orders were called.
Lewis has been on M& B's share register since last October when he bought beleaguered entrepreneur Robert Tchenguiz's 21pc stake, paying 130p a share for the privilege.
