SHOULD investors be thinking about avian flu? Two Canadian economists, Donald Coxe and Dr Sherry Cooper, certainly believe so. As the pair themselves freely acknowledge, they are economists, not medics, so are not qualified to pronounce on the likelihood of a bird flu pandemic.

Their argument is that while investors need not embark on a panic sale of shares, they should at least look at the risks.
