RONNIE O'Sullivan delivered what sounded like an emotional farewell speech to snooker after crashing out of the World Championship quarterfinals in controversial fashion last night.

The world No 1 and reigning champion led 8-2 and 10-6 against Peter Ebdon but his shrewd old rival slowed down the final session to win the psychological battle and claim a 13-11 victory.
