TONY Blair dropped weeks of pretence yesterday and admitted he is talking to Brussels about a cut in Britain's EU rebate.
The Premier told the Commons he had 'made it absolutely clear that the rebate remains' but added: 'It remained in 1999. We negotiated successfully then we'll negotiate successfully again.' It was the first time anyone in the Government has acknowledged that it had submitted itself to a negotiation on the Pounds 3billion-a-year deal.
