TONY Blair made a terrible mistake by invading Iraq, a report claims.

It found the root failure of his foreign policy has been his inability to exert pressure on George Bush despite his unwavering public support for the U.S. president. Professor Victor Bulmer- Thomas, the director of Chatham House, the think-tank which wrote the report, said Mr Blair is now paying the price for his lack of influence. He added: 'The post 9/11 decision to invade Iraq was a terrible mistake and the current debacle will have policy repercussions for many years to come. 'Blair has learned the hard way that loyalty in international politics counts for nothing and his successor will not make the same mistake of offering unconditional support for U.S.
