BLOOD pressure drugs taken by hundreds of thousands of Britons may cut the risk of Parkinson's disease.

Research shows that long-term use calcium channel blockers, one of several types of blood pressure-lowering tablets in widespread use, cuts the likelihood of developing the debilitating brain disease by 23 per cent. Examples of calcium channel blockers are verapamil and diltiazem.
