THE Bank of England's programme of printing money has helped ease the nation's economic slump, deputy governor Charles Bean has claimed.

He told an audience of accountants in London that the Bank believes it has contributed significantly to the Pounds 60bn of new capital raising by Britain's companies since January, sharply up on the Pounds 40bn average in the same period seen in recent times.
