CELTIC 2 DUNDEE 1

CELTIC defender Glenn Loovens has pleaded with Gordon Strachan not to axe goalkeeper Artur Boruc after the Pole's latest howler. Boruc will be called into his manager's office this morning to discuss the fresh-air swipe which gifted Dundee's Colin McMenamin an opening goal at Parkhead - and the Celtic boss has indicated that his keeper is not immune from being dropped. Celtic went on to win the Homecoming Scottish Cup tie 2-1 but Boruc also caused panic in the last minute by dropping a McMenamin cross virtually on the goal line, escaping punishment when Loovens booted clear. Strachan is clearly concerned about the Polish international's loss of form but Dutch defender Loovens insists Boruc should keep his place. He said: 'For the defence, I think it's important there's a goalkeeper behind you who you know. 'Artur has had a few bad moments lately but he's a great keeper. Just give him the benefit of the doubt. I think he should stay in the team. He has proved again and again that he's a good goalkeeper.'
