IT'S NEVER easy to live up to expectations but Mary Cullen did so in style when she claimed a second bronze medal for Ireland in a thrilling final of the women's 3,000 metres at the European Indoor Athletics Championships.

It was all about courage in the last few laps and Cullen had the stomach for the fight and was rewarded for her aggressive and courageous running over the closing laps that set the foundations for her third place finish in a high-class field.
