Summary
I HAVE no idea about the severity of the problems caused by standing traffic in Shoreham (Mail), but I'll bet they are not nearly as bad as those caused by toll collection at the Dartford crossing. We were told tolls would be lifted once construction costs had been recovered, but this was achieved several years ago and still we pay.
When I queried this with the DoT, I was told tolls reduced the speed of motorists over the bridge. When I then asked why similar precautions were not in place on the Medway Bridge or the Thelwall Viaduct, I was told they were 'different'.See the full content of this document
