FEMALE MPs from across the political spectrum have urged the Culture Secretary to apologise to a civil liberties campaigner over 'smears' about her relationship with Tory David Davis.

Shami Chakrabarti, director of Liberty, was appalled by Andy Burnham's claim that she shared 'latenight, hand-wringing, heart- melting phone calls' with Mr Davis as they opposed the Government's anti-terror plans.
