THE latest effort to tackle the controversial area of player burnout sees the GAA replace the Under 21 grade with an Under 20 level. Congress earlier this year voted on a proposal to abolish the minor and U21 grades and introduce an U19 competition instead, but it was comprehensively defeated.
However, Professor Niall Moyna yesterday insisted the introduction of an U20 grade can help to address the situation of burnout, as the number of players under the age of 20 playing senior inter-county football is much smaller than those under the age of 21.See the full content of this document
