THE bus driver on trial over a road rampage that caused the death of a 62-year-old woman was 'in the throes of an acute mental episode' at the time, a court has heard.

Consultant psychiatrist Patricia Casey, of Dublin's Mater Hospital, said Peter Clarke was 'too agitated, perplexed and terror- stricken to even consider right from wrong' when he drove into oncoming traffic at Bluebell Luas stop on the Naas Road in 2006.
