POPCORN fans will be upset to hear that Cadbury's Butterkist factory has gone up in flames. The fire, in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, is believed to have started when a batch of popcorn being cooked became too hot, writes Lucy Farndon.

The sweets plant, which also made chocolate-covered nuts and raisins, was destroyed, said the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
