JESSICA LANDSAY'S experience resulting from a malignant melanoma (Mail) almost exactly reflects the problem I had. Mine was in the same facial area, and after it had been removed and the wound grafted, a year later I, too, discovered a lump in my neck. It turned out that my neck, throat and shoulder had been ravaged by a cancerous invasion from the melanoma, aggravated by the sun. It was very much touch-andgo, but the surgeon did a splendid job, and despite losing nerve tissue which paralysed one side of my face and twisted my mouth (later corrected), I'm now fine and well.
