AN ESTIMATED 3.4 million borrowers have been turned down for a mortgage or loan in the past 18 months -- with 450,000 applying more than four times before being accepted.
The findings from bank GE Money show a tightening of lending criteria is hitting those applying for credit. Every time you apply for credit leaves a footprint on your credit score.
