ST MARTIN'S showed the hunger of a side without a Wexford title success in nine years when they devastated holders Oulart-the- Ballagh with a stunning display of hurling.

Coming into this game, St Martin's hadn't won a senior title since 1999, which was their solitary senior success, but against the reigning champions they showed colossal appetite for the battle and simply outplayed Oulartthe-Ballagh, even when their backs were to the wall during a tense second-half period. Kevin Ryan's Oulart didn't appear to have the stomach for a real fight, except for a 10- minute period late on, but it was St Martin's manager Roy Coleman who got it right with a shrewd game plan and positional switches that outmanoeuvred his more experienced counterpart.
