I WAS delighted to learn of the origins of the Cox's Orange Pippin (Mail). Developed from the Ribston Pippin and the Blenheim, no wonder it's a super apple.
My father had a Blenheim Orange tree, among others, in his garden. As a child, I spent many a Saturday afternoon perched up in the fork of these huge trees with a book. Those apples could grow to weigh almost 1lb each; they were crisp, sweet and juicy.See the full content of this document
