CHARLTON manager Alan Curbishley is ready for showdown talks with the club's board after demanding funds are made available to bring in at least two players before the start of the Premiership season.

Curbishley admitted he has met stiff opposition from his directors over attempts to add to his squad but warned of a season of mediocrity unless he is given a free rein in the transfer market.
