IT WAS a case of good things come to those who wait for drinks group Diageo, which reported a return to growth for its iconic Guinness brand in its half-year results.

The world's largest drinks firm also said double digit growth at Johnnie Walker whisky had lifted profit despite the consumer downturn, but analysts said the performance of the Asia Pacific arm was disappointing.
