ABERDEEN'S UEFA Cup visit to Athens in midweek brought to mind the yarn told of a famous Scot (three guesses only as to his identity) when visiting the Greek capital once with Liverpool.

The Anfield squad were preparing to take in some of the historic sights before a European Cup game, most notably the Parthenon and Acropolis, but our fellow countryman wasn't exactly enthused by the prospect.
