FROM flogging jeans on a street stall to dressing some of the hottest celebs around, husband and wife designer team amonn and Lisa Downey have come a very long way. While amonn came from a family of designers his parents ran the hugely successful Lipsy brand Lisa had no fashion background, bar a love of magazines and celebrities such as Victoria Beckham.
But their combined skills were enough to create Heart Soul one of Irelands most successful new fashion labels. Despite only being around for a year, they dressed the entire troop of Miss Ireland finalists this year and their dresses are often spotted on the likes of Rosanna Davison, Ireland AMs Sinead Desmond and Karen Koster. Their secret is simple: create ultra-glam, celeb-inspired dresses at affordable prices. Lisa says: If Sienna Miller is wearing a really cool dress, we can get something similar to the shop-floor quickly. Were always watching celebrities and events like the Oscars.
