Summary

'IN AUGUST 2006 I received a quarterly electricity bill from Npower for nearly Pounds 1,000. I am single and have lived in a two bed flat for five years and my bills have always been low. Npower finally checked the meter and it turned out the figure on my bills was wrong. It belonged to an adjacent flat. However, I still appear to be billed for the wrong meter. My August 2007 bill is still far too high at Pounds 385.41. Npower has now set my direct debit at Pounds 104 a month against Pounds 21 a month previously and told me if I want the power supply checked I must do it myself. I have been told I now cannot take my case to the Energy Ombudsman because my original complaint was more than nine months ago.'
