BRITAIN awoke this morning with a new sporting heroine to embrace.
Ellen MacArthur, from the hamlet of Whatstandwell in landlocked Derbyshire, completed her record-breaking solo journey round the world near the island of Ushant, off the coast of Brittany, at 10.29pm after more than 71 days and 27,350 miles. Her 75ft trimaran, BQ, which she refers to affectionately as Moby, came home in 71 days, 14 hours, 18 minutes and 33 seconds hours.See the full content of this document
