ENGLAND were put on notice yesterday that boycotting Zimbabwe next autumn would win them far more friends at home than abroad.

While a decision not to travel to Robert Mugabe's benighted country would gain the English game much respect on these shores, internationally they seem to be in honourable isolation over the issue.
