FOUR former top actuaries at Equitable Life face lifetime bans from their profession over their roles in the near-collapse of the troubled mutual, writes Ian Lyall.

The Institute of Actuaries has referred to a disciplinary tribunal charges of misconduct against former chief executives Chris Headdon, Alan Nash, Roy Ranson and Barry Sherlock, who ran the company between the mid-1970s and 2001.
