Summary
FAR be it from me to suggest that the former Women's Land Army girls shouldn't receive a medal. I'm not saying they don't deserve it; I'm sure they did a very worthwhile job in the war but at least they weren't in any danger from bombs.
What about the factory girls who worked in great danger with explosive powder and never knew the moment when they could be bombed? Thousands of women like me did 12-hour shifts in the aero- engine factory in Coventry.See the full content of this document
