THIS weekend, 31,000 Leaving Cert students will feel most unfortunate souls. As their schedules are upended and their studies disrupted thanks to the error surrounding English Paper 2, they will imagine that they have certainly been cast into the Ninth Circle of Hell.

They'll wax lyrical about how they were counting on the points, and they might miss their course, about only having studied Keats and how Saturday had been set aside for Maths Paper 2 or Irish Paper 1 or whatever comes next on their timetable.
