NOW, I always tell myself I have a consistent position on nip and tuck. I hate it. I think it's bad and wrong. Bad for the person who has it done; wrong for the world around that misguided person. But every so often I waver. Every so often I flirt with the idea. I cast my mind back to a programme I once watched.

It was about a woman who was not beautiful. Quite the opposite. By her own admission she was unappealing to look at. Her ears stuck out. Her chin stuck in. Her teeth were wonky. So was her nose. And all of this, she said, made her very unhappy.
