IRISH renewable energy group Airtricity has sold its North American wind farm operations for EUR1bn to E.ON.

Airtricity, a division of infrastructure group NTR, said that the deal should be finalised by the end of the year and includes $553m (EUR391m) in net debt and shareholder loans.
