THE fish market just has not worked out for Tate Lyle. The sugar group is in talks to quit a venture that makes Astaxanthin, a nutrient fed to farmed salmon to turn their flesh pinker.

It plans to stop production at its Selby site in North Yorkshire next month, with the loss of 45 jobs. TL put a 12m investment in the business four years ago.
