JENSON BUTTON deserved his day in the sun at the Australian Grand Prix and there could be many more to come, but his boss, Ross Brawn, is the solid-gold genius behind the emergence of Brawn GP.

He proved his worth seven times for Michael Schumacher, at Benetton and Ferrari. He did it for Jaguar, too, and on each occasion brilliantly exploited the sport's technological rules to produce a superior car. He would then have revolutionised the Honda team had his employers not bailed out of Formula One at the end of last season to focus on fancy adverts.
