Summary

ENGLAND have an injury crisis ahead of today's last 50-over warm- up game against South Africa A at Potchefstroom. Stuart Broad has had 'several' injections in his damaged right shoulder to try to speed up his recovery and is struggling to be fit for Friday's first oneday international.

Also missing today are Jimmy Anderson with a knee problem, Graeme Swann, who told his Twitter followers that he is 'as stiff as a Bangkok prison sentence' and is out with an intercostal muscle injury, and Paul Collingwood, who hurt his back 'swinging the willow with such gusto' in the first Twenty20 international. England were yesterday considering promoting a bowler, probably Liam Plunkett, to the squad from the performance squad players who arrived in South Africa yesterday. Meanwhile, cricket is facing embarrassment over its botched attempt to bring in the controversial umpire referral system for England's Test series in South Africa.
