ANDREW Flintoff will banish the spectre of his World Cup pedalo antics for good today as he returns home to Old Trafford, fit again and prepared to act as England's stand-in captain once more.

The 29-year-old allrounder took a full part in practice in Manchester yesterday to signal that the pain in his right knee had subsided and pave the way for his first international appearance at Lancashire's famous old ground for two years. Having missed the hosts' emphatic victory over India in the third NatWest Series match at Edgbaston on Monday, Flintoff is impatiently awaiting the chance to continue his comeback from ankle surgery.
