An Aussie who looks more like Gerard Depardieu than his boyhood idol Dennis Lillee, his apprenticeship for the toughest job in British rugby has been every bit as strange as the events which have conspired to put him in charge of the RBS Six Nations champions.

The nappy bit could come in handy.
