From the gridlock, which saw all the leaders wait up to half an hour on the 17th tee at the Old Course in St Andrews, Stephen Gallacher, the nephew of former Ryder Cup captain Bernard, emerged to win the Dunhill Links Championship and a first prize of Pounds 445,037.
