Summary
IT ASTOUNDS me that the Irish people are willing to go along with Brian Lenihan's plan to mortgage our collective financial future with Nama's 'toxic bank'. Quite apart from the fact that we are being asked to fall in with a plan formulated by officials whose economic foresight has to be in grave doubt, (at the height of the boom, they consistently failed to predict the scale of the tax take, never mind the depths to which the economy would fall in recent months), we are expected to place our bet without knowing the odds.
Let us forget for a moment the plight of the banks, the travails of the developers, and the natural urge most of us foster to declare, 'They've made their bed - let them lie in it...' Let us look at this proposition without malice.See the full content of this document
