MICHAEL HOWARD and many other old boys of Llanelli Grammar School when he and I were pupils in the late Fifties owe a debt of gratitude to two headmasters of stature - Mr Shaw, a saintly man who exerted an influence of calm and tranquillity, and his successor Mr Rees, an energetic and enthusiastic headteacher.

Llanelli Grammar has produced a wide range of well qualified, outgoing and successful people who have made their mark on the world and continue to do so.
